Jay L. Mackman, D.D.S.
He is a 1981 graduate of Marquette Dental School. He has 25 years of experience in temporomandibular disorders (TMD), orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. Dr Mackman is board certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain (ABOP) and the American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM). He further is a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Mackman is a consultant to most insurance companies in southeastern Wisconsin. He is also a consultant to most hospitals in southeastern Wisconsin. Additionally, Dr. Mackman is an advisor to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Mackman is author and/or contributor to several books and articles. He has taught didactic and clinical courses at numerous dental schools, medical schools, hospitals and dental and medical organizations nationally and internationally.

Dr. Mackman belongs to many national and international level organizations in support of education, research and advancement of the fields of dental sleep medicine and orofacial pain. He is the co-founder of both the TMJ and Orofacial Pain Treatment Centers of Wisconsin and the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Wellness Centers

Mary K. Karkow, D.D.S., M.S.
She is a 1992 graduate of Marquette Dental School. She completed a one-year hospital dentistry residency in Madison, Wisconsin. She then attended the University of Minnesota two-year TMJ and Orofacial Pain fellowship and received her master’s degree (MS).

Dr. Karkow joined the TMJ and Orofacial Pain Treatment Centers of Wisconsin in 1995, and helped found the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Wellness Centers. She has lectured extensively on the use of oral appliances to medical and dental organizations in Wisconsin. She has also lectured on fibromyalgia and works closely with the Fibromyalgia Treatment Center of Wisconsin. Dr. Karkow is the author and/or contributor of many articles in various journals and papers.

Dr. Karkow has attended continuing education in the field of sleep medicine and has widespread knowledge of the use of oral appliances in patient care.
She is a member of the Wisconsin Dental Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. She further is a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

 
Randy J. McDaniel, D.M.D., M.S.
He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD). He has also completed a 2-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at Keesler AFB Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi. Residency emphasis was Comprehensive Dentistry including diagnosis and dental management of obstructive sleep apnea and temporomandibular joint disorders/orofacial pain.

He then attended the University of Minnesota 2-year TMJ and Orofacial Pain fellowship, which included sleep lab rotations on service, dental sleep medicine rotations on service and clinical care training in snoring and sleep apnea care as well. After completion of his MS degree he became a staff member at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, as Director of the Orofacial Pain Clinic, Director of the USAF Orofacial Pain, and Special Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General In Orofacial Pain. Responsibilities included policy formulation, establishing clinical standards for patient care, directing residency training at Wilford Hall Medical Center and 11 USAF general dentistry residencies around the United States, public speaking and residency/staff education in the orofacial pain and sleep apnea fields.

Since retiring from the USAF, Dr. McDaniel has Co-founded the Snoring & Sleep Apnea Wellness Centers and he has joined the TMJ & Orofacial Pain Treatment Centers of Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (ADSM), the Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) and the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).
